Our Story

The idea of MyBadFlight.com came from a horrible airline experience in February of 2007.  I was scheduled on a direct flight out of Newark Liberty International Airport to Ecuador.  Before the cabin door was closed, we were told that the flight would be making a stop in Miami, Florida to refuel.  It didn’t make sense.  Why would we have to refuel in Miami when we were still at our gate in Newark?

When we finally took off, an hour later, the crew assured us that the stop would only be about 20 minutes; it wasn’t.  Our stop in Miami lasted about an hour.  People were angry.  The crew tried to keep us calm with peanuts and drinks, but it didn’t work.

Upon arriving home from Ecuador, I contacted the airline and told them about my horrible experience.  They said that it would be noted.  I tried searching the web for a site to share my experiences to alert other travelers, but I really couldn’t find one.  That’s when MyBadflight.com was born!

The Purpose
